Generation, storage and beyond
Blanco Energy was established in 2019 when the group made a deliberate decision: the same patient capital that builds mines over decades is exactly what the energy transition requires. Seven years later, the division operates 2.3 GW of renewable generation and storage across Spain, Portugal, Scotland and the UAE.
We develop, build, own and operate — we do not flip assets. Every project on our balance sheet is held under long-term power purchase agreements with investment-grade counterparties, giving the portfolio a weighted-average contracted life of 16 years.

Utility-scale solar
Our Iberian solar platform spans 1.2 GW across eight sites, including Helios Meridian in Andalusia — at 480 MW one of the largest single-axis-tracking installations in Southern Europe.
Offshore and onshore wind
The 620 MW North Reach array off the Scottish coast reached full commercial operation in 2024, delivering power to 580,000 homes under a 15-year contract for difference.
Battery storage & grid services
Ravenna Storage, our 200 MW / 800 MWh battery facility in Emilia-Romagna, provides frequency response and arbitrage services to the Italian grid, with two sister projects in development in Valencia and Abu Dhabi.

Commissioned in 2022 on former dryland farming terrain, the site pairs 1.1 million bifacial modules with an agrivoltaic pilot that grazes 4,000 sheep beneath the arrays.

North Reach Offshore Wind
620 MW offshore wind
Forty-one 15 MW turbines in water depths of up to 58 metres. Construction supported 1,400 jobs, with a permanent operations base in Buckie employing 90 people.

One of the largest battery installations in the Mediterranean, capable of powering 150,000 households for four hours at full discharge and cycling twice daily.
